Törökbálint is Budaörs's quieter neighbour to the south-west, a former Swabian village that has turned into a hillside residential town of about 15 000 people. The centre on Munkácsy Mihály utca has the church, the town hall, a small supermarket cluster, a library and the schools; the rest is streets of houses climbing the slopes of the Anna-hegy and the Tükörhegy, with the Tópark office development and the railway on the eastern edge by the M0.
It is one of the greenest of the near-west towns, with forest above the houses and a lake by the office park, and it has kept a village feel in the centre. It is also very much a car town: the M0, M1 and M7 junctions are two to five minutes from most streets, and the retail zone of Budaörs is a short drive.
Daily life is calm and local. There is a primary school, a grammar school, kindergartens, a sports hall and a swimming pool; for bigger shopping and hospitals you go to Budaörs or Budapest.

Getting around
- Volánbusz and BKK buses to Kelenföld (M4) in 20 to 30 minutes, some via Budaörs; from Kelenföld the M4 takes 12 minutes to Deák, so 45 to 55 minutes door to door in normal traffic.
- Törökbálint railway station on the Tatabánya/Győr line is on the eastern edge by the Tópark: S10 trains reach Kelenföld in about 12 minutes and Déli in 22. It is a bus or drive from the hillside streets.
- Local buses link the hillside neighbourhoods to the centre and the station; frequencies drop in the evening.
- By car: Kelenföld in 12 to 18 minutes, the city centre in 30 to 50 minutes; the M0 junction is at the town's edge, so the airport is about 30 minutes and Balaton under an hour.
What the homes are like
Almost entirely houses. The older village houses on the flat streets around the centre come with long plots and are often renovated; the slopes have 1980s and 1990s two-storey family houses, many split into an upstairs and a downstairs flat with a shared garden, and newer detached and semi-detached houses on the Tükörhegy and Anna-hegy with garages and views. The few flats are in small newer condominiums near the centre and the station, typically 2-room and 50 to 70 square metres with gas boilers and a parking space. Törökbálint suits families with a car who want a garden, forest walks and a village-sized centre, and who commute by motorway or to Kelenföld. It suits people working at the Tópark offices or along the M0 and M1. It does not suit someone without a car; buses exist, but shopping, the station and the hillside streets are spread out.
